Internal Family Systems (“IFS”) is a modality that focuses on strengthening your connection to your Self (which you might think of as your “wise mind”), as well as getting to know and supporting your parts. IFS holds all people have parts and approaches mental health from a de-pathologizing stance. You can learn more about IFS at the IFS Institute. I am trained in and influenced by IFS. If you have more questions about IFS or how I incorporate IFS, I very much welcome you to ask in our consultation or when it becomes relevant.

Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (“EMDR”) provides both a framework for understanding trauma and also a protocol for processing trauma. EMDR’s processing protocol is client-led – I facilitate and support you, but you are doing the actual work. EMDR practitioners have also started to experiment with EMDR for issues like compulsive behaviors with some strong preliminary results. You can learn more about EMDR at the EMDR International Association. If you have more questions about EMDR or how I incorporate EMDR, I am more than happy to answer questions in a consultation and beyond.

Absolutely not – I learned how to work with a wide array of people and reasons for seeking therapy across diverse clinical settings. If you are interested in working with me, I welcome you to reach out! I am also happy to answer further questions about my experience or what’s bringing you to therapy in a consultation .
